Lowestoft Street Velodrome - Lowestoft Summer Festival 2016
Lowestoft Town Centre at 9:00 AMThe cycle events continue on the Suffolk Coast as the Lowestoft Festival invites you ride the Street Velodrome.
The unique street velodrome track is open to all ages and abilities, the street velodrome team will be on hand to provide coaching before you get to speed around the track.
Street Velodrome was first introduced to Lowestoft as part of the 2015 Lowestoft Festival. Following its success the velodrome will once again return to the town centre for the opening weekend of the festival.
Street Velodrome provides a very unique cycling experience for all ages. The track includes two curved corners to create a velodrome in the heart of Lowestoft town centre. Before anyone takes to the track the team which includes professional riders are on hand to provide coaching and advise to ensure everyone’s safety. All bikes and safety equipment are provided so you simply just need to turn up.
Saturday’s programme provides lots of opportunities for visitors and members of the public to turn up and ride the velodrome competing against friends and family.
For those who would prefer to sit back and relax, the velodrome is a great place to help the commentary team cheer on each rider.
Saturday Programme
9am – 10am Official launch
10am – 12pm Open track session (open to everyone)
12pm – 2pm Local schools competition
2pm – 4pm Open track competition
4pm - close Business competition - Download Entry Form
The event is free of charge with donations of £1 per rider gratefully received for the Lowestoft Summer Festival charity.
