Mind the Gap

SAM’S COFFEE HOUSE at 2:30 PM

Mind the Gap’ is a performance which celebrates the heritage of Lowestoft's railway station in its 175th anniversary year in 2022.

The show is a cultural/arts research project which has facilitated the research of local people who have been interested in finding out more about the arrival of rail to the town, the role that Sir Samuel Morton Peto played in this and the wider prosperity and tourism that it brought to Lowestoft.

The collaborative project between Suffolk Archives and the Voice cLoud has enabled participants to use the resources and collections of Lowestoft Archives to research stories connected to the railway line and has seen professional theatre makers transform this research into a bespoke dramatised performance featuring folk music and local musicians which showcases the unique heritage of Lowestoft.

The show is free to attend but tickets must be booked in advance.
