This month is a Youth Showcase featuring Robin Torbitt and Retro Firefly
Robin Torbitt is a 24 y/o independent artist based in Suffolk. His songs are grounded in a love for 1970s folk singer-songwriters, blending in additional flavours of alternative rock and atmospheric music production. Robin is a self-recording musician, his understanding of songwriting and sound go hand in hand to produce work that is individual and evocative at each stage of conception. So far Robin has a two-part EP and two albums under his belt. Robin regularly performs stripped-back solo sets around East Anglia, winning a folk songwriting competition in 2024 and teaches music to young people.
Retro Firefly is an indie-folk artist from Lowestoft who specialises in writing emotional songs that are gentle, thoughtful and catchy. She frequently finds inspiration in nature and her upbringing along the Suffolk Coast, as well as regularly writing about sorrow and the transience of life. Her music is for tender souls who feel deeply.
Known for her distinctive voice and chatty onstage presence, Retro Firefly regularly performs in East Anglia and London, playing pubs, theatres, venues and markets, as well as appearing on stages at Festivals including First Light Lowestoft, Latitude, and Thamesmead Festival.
