Big dreams, first jobs, fresh starts. Whatever a young person in Suffolk is aiming for, there is a free service ready to help them get there and it all begins with a friendly chat.
Thrive is a personal development service for young people aged 16 to 24 who live in Suffolk and it is completely free to access. Funded by Suffolk County Council, it builds a personalised programme around each young person, starting with an informal conversation to understand their goals and get to know what makes them tick.
From there, the possibilities open up. Thrive helps young people take confident steps into employment, education and training, with dedicated Progression Coaches cheering them on every step of the way. Thrive offers support to young people above the age of 16 with a Suffolk postcode is welcome to join.
There really is something for everyone. Young people can get hands on help with CV writing and interview skills, explore career options and job searching and pick up advice on further training, benefits and housing. There are funded training and work experience opportunities, friendly support events to enjoy and one to one confidence building and mentoring to help them believe in what they can do.
On top of all that, Thrive runs a packed programme of workshops covering CV sessions, apprenticeships, self confidence, mock interviews and plenty more. Applying for a first job, researching further education, weighing up training options? The team is genuinely excited to help in any way they can.
