It’s called ‘Once Upon a Time in Suffolk’ and is an anthology of folklore and fairytales that has been made by a volunteer cast and crew of over 200 local filmmakers, writers, actors and enthusiasts from across East Anglia. One of the stories that feature was shot entirely around Lowestoft, and another stars Lowestoft’s own Dominic Taylor, councillor for the Kirkley ward! There are a number of other local people who were involved as well.
There are 8 stories in the film, all based on either folklore from the region or classic fairytales that have been given a local twist. A mix of fun, adventure, drama and pathos, something (hopefully!) for everyone. It runs 100 minutes and is rated 12A.
