Lowestoft Jazz Weekend returns this September with a vibrant four-day programme featuring internationally acclaimed artists, exciting local talent, and grassroots events across the town.
Continuing the town’s proud jazz tradition—led by Milestones Jazz Club since 1996—the festival was originally founded in 2018 by the much-missed Bob Blizzard and later run by the Seagull Theatre. Now, thanks to a group of local jazz lovers, including Piers Colby and the Mayfly Community Café, the festival is back and better than ever.
Expect a rich mix of world-class acts and local artists performing in unique venues—from churches to bars not usually known for live music. Highlights include:
Batfish – Thurs 4 Sept, 8pm, The Slounge
Pete Roth Trio feat. Bill Bruford – Fri 5 Sept, 7pm, Lowestoft College
Blue Ventura – Sat 6 Sept, 12.30pm, Mark G’s
Devon Harper Trio – Sat 6 Sept, 2.30pm, The Mayfly
Kit Downes & Tom Challenger – Sat 6 Sept, 7pm, St Margaret’s Church
Jazz Barbecue feat. David & Pete + Paul’s 78s – Sun 7 Sept, 3pm, The Rant Score Garden
Festival Finale @ Milestones Jazz Club – Sun 7 Sept, 8pm, Hatfield Hotel
