Rosemary Lee returns to her hometown of Lowestoft to present a remarkable collection of video and film works – some filmed in East Anglia – which she has created over the past 40 years.
Step into her world to experience the captivating video installation LIQUID GOLD IS THE AIR and explore a series of 5 acclaimed short dance films which will be running continually throughout the exhibition.
These magical dance films transport you to beautiful places, whilst highlighting the grace and individuality of every performer – from a 9-year-old boy leaping through sand dunes, a little girl dancing in a forgotten garden, to a cast of over 70 intergenerational performers gliding through a cathedral of trees.
Described as “one of the most gifted, level-headed and articulate artists in the UK” (Animated), Rosemary is renowned for her work with performers of all ages, and for making dances for unusual sites. Throughout her career she has remained dedicated to making performances and films that reach a wide audience and speak of our humanity and unspoken connection to each other and to our environment. The films were made with a range of collaborators, and many were originally commissioned by the BBC.
Also don’t miss a special opportunity to hear from Lowestoft’s own internationally acclaimed artist in person!
Wednesday 1 October | 6.30 – 8pm Tickets £6, book here.
