Celebrating an amazing piece of forgotten local history, this exhibition is inspired by the visit to Lowestoft in 1903 of Buffalo Bill (William Cody) and his troupe of 800 people to put on a Wild West show. The exhibition, put together by John Ward, comprises pictures and photos of the Wild West show visiting the UK including an advert that appeared in The Lowestoft Journal in 1903. It is hoped that there will be a permanent information board installed at the station to mark this part of the town’s history.
After the exhibition, on 17th September, the John Ward Trio will be performing Congress at the Seagull Theatre as part of On the Edge. This evening of music, words and slideshow also tells the story of Buffalo Bill’s visit to Lowestoft.
The exhibition is free to attend. There is no need to book.
