London based club night, White Trash, heads to England’s most Easterly Sea Side town for the Spring Bank Holiday.
Mixing cutting edge beats, art and film, tonight boasts famed TV and film actor and master vinyl mixer Ben Miles, Noise of Art creator vinyl DJ Ben Osborne and resident Battery artist and VJ Alice Stallard, aka Girl I A T-Shirt.
Expect an eclectic mix of electronic beats, italo disco, boogie, post punk dance, acid house bleeps, disco pogo and live audio visuals recalling 1980’s warehouse partying.
TV and film star Ben Miles is best known for starring in Coupling, The Forsyte Saga, The Crown, V for Vendetta and a host of high profile shows. But his roots are in vinyl DJing, and his creativity and skill is equally evident spinning on the decks as it is on stage.
Ben Osborne’s cross platform arts career has trail-blazed grass roots arts and included DJing clubs and festival’s internationally, writing two books on music, including his best selling Arctic Monkey’s autobiography, and being an award winning and pioneering creative producer. He DJs iconic places from Stonebridge Stage Glastonbury to BT Tower for the Olympics. Described as a ‘polymath’ by Time Out, Ben’s also presented radio shows for Xfm, NME Radio and Slack City Radio.
VJ Girl In A T-Shirt, AKA artist Alice Stallard, is a Battery of Ideas commissioned artist with many years delivering barrier-breaking art in both educational and community art settings. Alice’s work has included clients such as Tate Britain, Waterloo Carnival Arts, Gate Curate and the South Bank Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre. She headed up a West London art department and her recent work includes large scale, site-specific commissions for the Ackerman Studios and Daisy Green Collection. She’s currently chair of Woodbridge Festival of Arts and Music.
