Christmas in Lowestoft 2022

Christmas is almost here and we're getting ready to begin our festive celebrations so join us on Saturday 3rd December as we officially celebrate Christmas with our Christmas Lights Switch on event.

With street entertainment from 1pm, you will get the opportunity to meet the very naughty Grinch, or have your photo taken with our Christmas Angel.

Stage entertainment will begin at 2pm with two radio legends Paul Carter and Tim Lindon formerly of The Beach Radio.

With singing and dancing acts from 2:15pm you will be entertained all the way through to the switch on at 5pm. Acts such as Group A, Kerri Woodhouse and Venue of Performing arts to name a few, will have you dancing and singing along as you enjoy Christmas shopping or a bite to eat from the Continental Market. Enjoy the shenanigans of Terry Gleed and the Panto cast of Jack & the Beanstalk from 4:35pm.

Join in our wordsearch competition to be in with the chance of joining Woody Bear to officially turn on the Christmas Lights. The competition will be announced by Paul & Tim from 2pm onwards, make sure you head to the stage to collect your entry slip.

1:00 PM - Street entertainment with Discover Lowestoft meet and Greet Christmas characters

2:00 PM - Entertainment includes performances from; Group A, My Choir Rocks, Gaby Starbuck, Kerri Woodhouse, Ormiston Denes Academy Performing Arts and Venue of Performing Arts. Hosted by local radio legends Paul Carter and Tim Lindon

4:35 PM - Terry Gleed and the Marina Theatre panto cast of Jack and the beanstalk

5:00 PM - Countdown to the Christmas Light Switch-On with Woody Bear and our competition winner!

As well as our Light Switch-On there are lots of other events happening around Lowestoft to get us all in the Christmas mood.
