Their History- “The Trawlerboys”
Lowestoft Town Football Club was founded in 1887 and has been a proud symbol of football heritage in our town for well over a century. As one of the oldest clubs in the region, Lowestoft Town has provided unforgettable moments of sporting joy, proud local identities, and a shared passion that has united generations of supporters.
From humble beginnings, the club has competed in numerous leagues, nurturing local talent and representing Lowestoft with pride on every pitch. Our home matches have been gatherings of the community where families, friends, and football fans come together in to share in their passion for the beautiful game.
Cultural Relevance and Importance
Lowestoft Town FC is more than just a football club — it is a cornerstone of our local community spirit. It brings together people across all ages and backgrounds, fostering friendships, local pride, and a sense of belonging. The club supports youth development programmes, offering children and young people a positive outlet through sport and teamwork. The club is represented by our men’s First team in the Isthmian League North Division, at Step 4 of the national league structure, and by our 2025-2026 Championship-winning Ladies’ team in the Norfolk Women & Girls Football League Division 1. Our Under-19 squad compete in the National Youth Alliance League, with a 3rd place League finish last season.
Our football ground, Crown Meadow, is a local landmark. Right in the heart of Lowestoft, it’s a place where memories are made and stories are shared. The club’s identity is woven into the fabric of the town, embodying the town’s resilience, passion, and commitment to community values.
Protecting Their Future
Unfortunately, like many community clubs, Lowestoft Town FC is facing financial challenges that threaten its continued existence. Rising costs and limited funding make it extremely challenging to maintain our facilities, support our teams, and develop the next generation of players.
We need your help to secure the future of this proud club.
