New face in Lowestoft’s town centre

Lowestoft

Angela Grey has joined Lowestoft Vision, the town’s Business Improvement District (BID), with the aim of representing local businesses and retailers in the town, and helping to enhance the town centre for locals and visitors alike.

Angela joins the team at an exciting time, with plans already in place from East Suffolk Council and partners to build on the town’s strengths through the Lowestoft Town Investment Plan. This newly created role will aim to represent businesses within the BID area, and help to take advantage of all the opportunities the regeneration plans will offer for local businesses.

Commenting on her appointment, Angela said: “I am so excited to be joining Lowestoft Vision to support all the fantastic businesses in our BID area.

“I am currently taking the time to meet as many BID businesses in the town as I can to learn more about the unique challenges and opportunities facing us, and how I can help to make Lowestoft a great place to visit, shop, work and live.”

Angela previously worked as building and tenant manager at OrbisEnergy, and so is a familiar face to many local businesses.

Danny Steel, Chair of Lowestoft Vision said: “We are so pleased to welcome Angela to the team, to work alongside our Operations and Finance Manager Amie Mullen to deliver the five-year plan for Lowestoft Vision.

“Angela’s first task will be to oversee this year’s Stars of Lowestoft summer trail taking place throughout the town, which will be launched in July and running all through the summer holidays for families to take part with a chance to win a fantastic prize. She is currently looking for sponsors and hosts for the event, so if you would like to know more please get in touch!”

Lowestoft Vision’s business plan for the coming five years outlines support within four key themes: Regenerate, Pride of Place, Protect and Represent. Included in the delivery will be the continued part funding of a Police Community Support Officer to patrol the town, along with enhanced Christmas decorations and floral displays, support for businesses on regeneration plans, enhanced visitor engagement through the Discover Lowestoft website and social media, and a number of events and trails to attract footfall.
