Lowestoft Town Council is the 13th largest local council in England. Operated by a small team of trained professionals and 20 councillors, the Council manages a significant portfolio of assets and services. It also works with partners on projects to further the interests of local people, business and visitors to this unique town – the most easterly in the UK. Being the most easterly settlement, it is the first place to see the sunrise in the United Kingdom and is home to the most easterly site, Ness Point.
Lowestoft is the second largest town in Suffolk, divided into eight wards each with their own distinctive histories, open spaces and parks, and communities. The wards are Elmtree, Gunton, Harbour and Normanston, Kirkley, Pakefield, St Margaret’s East, St Margaret’s West and Tom Crisp.
