Moral Of The Story Bookstore is a second hand bookshop tucked neatly in Lowestoft’s historic high street. I opened the doors in October 2023 after putting lots of love and careful thought into every (fully stocked) shelf in store & I hope you enjoy all Moral Of The Story has to offer, and share the experience with others.
We are a family run business! The bookshop shares the building at 132 High St with the fantastic Guitar Doctor UK, who occasionally dabbles in bookselling when I’m away! But the day-to-day running of the shop is done by myself (Colette), and from time to time Mabel; who keeps a keen eye on all the best children’s books out there!
I strive to put the best quality pre-loved books on our shelves, and continually look to expand our selections so that everybody can enjoy shopping with us! Currently, we have a fantastic and diverse selection of fiction books, as well as plenty of non- fiction reads for the budding historian, experienced crafter and amateur gardener. As well as a corner in the shop devoted to all things kids books! Packed full of great books for babies, school- age children and teens; kids can take their time choosing their next read in a comfy environment.
What’s more! We sell and accept National Book tokens, children’s soft toys & puzzles and handmade cards and other lovely things from local artisans.
