The Players Theatre, a registered charity, have been performing in the Town since 1967 – award winning plays, musical theatre, reviews, Christmas Spectaculars and pantomimes.
The home of The Lowestoft Players is at the Players Theatre. An iconic building located in the centre of the Town, just around the corner of The Marina Theatre. The Players aquired the building in 2008, initially as a rehearsal space.
Following numerous hours of work from a very supportive membership the former Seamans Mission and Naval Base in WWII was transformed into a Theatre seating 200. The building also has rehearsal space and a fully licensed Bar for the enjoyment of users.
As well as being the home for productions from The Players Theatre also hosts a variety of incoming acts which helps to raise funds to help with the running and upkeep of the historic building. The building is also available to hire for all kinds of events, functions and performances.
The Theatre is run entirely by volunteers from the local community.
